A major theme of the graphic is the continued growth in interactions on mobile devices and appropriate user interface design. 43% of those polled actively use social networks to research products, and communication via live chat is an established channel among consumers.

There are no specific details about exactly what forms of live chat were surveyed, but optimise-it recommends tailoring customer touchpoints to guarantee the best possible user experience. Customers should be shown an optimised mobile chat service or the well-known WhatsApp chat on smartphones, with sales or service chat and the option of face-to-face communication via video chat on desktop PCs. Customer requests in social networks should be responded to directly on the same platform, without changing channel.
